Insurance

Insurance should pay out when it matters. We act for policyholders, insurers and brokers — in court and out of it — on claims, disputes and the drafting of the policies themselves, with experience across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Questions about insurance

Is there a time limit to challenge a declined claim?

Often, yes. Many policies set a short period — sometimes twelve months — to dispute a rejection, and general time limits also apply. Bring the decline letter as soon as you receive it.

Do I have to go to court?

Not usually. Most insurance disputes settle through negotiation, and many policies send disputes to arbitration first. Court is the last step, not the first.

Can you handle a claim in Uganda or Tanzania?

Yes. We have handled insurance matters across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania and work with trusted local counsel where a court appearance there is needed.
